Privacy Policy

The Company shall obtain the customer’s personal information for the following purposes, and the Company shall also inform the customer of purposes unspecified therein:

1. to perform the duties of a registered car rental service provider under Article 80-1 of the Road Traffic Act in Japan, including but not limited to, producing a rental certificate for the rental contract;
2. to inform the customer of the Company’s products and services, and to invite the customer to promotional campaigns and other related events of the Company by sending printed materials and email;
3. to screen the identification of a customer who applies for rental service or drives a rented vehicle, and to examine the eligibility for making a rental contract;
4. to conduct questionnaire surveys of a customer who makes a contract or drives a vehicle, in attempts to plan and develop new products and services of the Company and to design customer service improvement measures;
5. to statistically pool and analyze personal information, and produce statistical data in an individually-unidentified or unspecified format; and
6. to offer and manage the customer’s credit/instalment service.

The Company may share the following personal information of the customer for the purposes specified in “1. Purpose of Using Personal Information.”

1. Personal information to be shared Customer’s name, date of birth, sex, postal address, phone number, e-mail address, driver’s license number, date of driver’s license issuance, customer number, workplace information (name, line of work, phone number), past purchases of rental service provided by Honda Rent-A-Lease Sapporo Co., Ltd.
2. Establishments to share the information The Company’s group companies (“the Group Company”)*
3. Purpose of sharing the information To improve operational efficiency in order to accomplish the purposes specified in “1. Purpose of Using Personal Information”
4. Method of obtaining personal information Conversations via phone and other means (including recorded conversations), written documents, website entry forms and other electronic recordings

The Company shall not provide the obtained personal information to any third parties outside of the Group Company, except in cases where:

1. the Company provides such information to a company agreed to by the customer;
2. the Company provides such information to our business partners (including the Company’s contracting insurance company) within the necessary range to accomplish the purposes specified in “1. Purpose of Using Personal Information;”
3. related rules and regulations require;
4. it is necessary to protect the person’s life, physical and financial status/condition, and if it is difficult to gain the consent of the customer;
5. it is especially necessary to improve public sanitation or promote the pupils’ healthy growth, and if it is difficult to gain the consent of the customer; or
6. the Company is required to cooperate with a national or municipal government or a person who has been consigned by either a national or municipal government to perform duties under the related rules and regulations, and if such an execution may be hindered by obtaining the consent of the customer.

If the customer would like the Company to disclose their personal information for confirmation or modification, the Company shall disclose the information that it has on the customer with a request form specified by the Company and submitted by the customer.
To obtain a request form for information disclosure and other forms specified by the Company, please contact the Company’s Kanri Honbu Somu Group (Administration group at the Management Head Office) or any Company branch. Identification (e.g., driver’s license) of those who request an information disclosure is required.
For disclosing personal information, the Company shall charge a commission fee of 1,000 JPY (excluding consumption tax) per item.
